How to Fix Stuck cable and Dry run Issues on Older Bikes?

For many of us, the only problem with bikes is our own cause. Until recently, most bikes had at least two cables that could deteriorate and cause headaches: throttle and clutch cables.
The throttle cable usually refuses to snap back the throttle handle when it is turned and released, letting you know its condition. Never ride a bike like this-they call it the "suicide throttle" for a reason. It is a wise idea to get into the habit of checking frequently. When you turn the handlebars left and right, check that the throttle is not affected.
The clutch cable has very poor mobility and will seep into the clutch slippage you feel. What really happened was that it moved less and less within the sheath, and eventually, the cable and the sheath as a whole began to merge into a nasty substance, which made the return spring unbearable. This does not allow the clutch to loosen completely and cause slippage.
The three main causes of cable failure are wiring errors-the cables are too short after a handlebar change or crash, and they are often poorly maintained. The best way is to use a special cable lubricant accessory, which can be purchased at your local power sports store. Nevertheless, in most cases, the recently stuck cable can be rescued by the following methods:
Remove the cable from the bike.
Wrap it around an arm or wide pole to separate the wire from its sheath.
Apply easily available spray lubricant, such as WD-40, and slide the inner cable up and down in the sheath.
I even saw people create makeshift funnels from silly putties, and then soak the cables in the liquid wrench that runs into Sturgis all night, with good results. Remember, the real trick is to pour the oil into the housing so that the dirt can be removed.

Dry run
When you provide more oil but the bike spills and dies, it is a sinking feeling. Naturally, the first thing you need to do is to leave the driveway safely. Then check if you accidentally pressed the spike switch. Make sure the battery can still turn the engine; if it can't, it's probably a charging or battery problem, and you need to call the circuit-side service provider (whether it is a professional company or a good uncle). If the battery is okay, follow these steps:
First, make sure that there is gas in the gas tank and set the pet to "on", "reserve" or "fill". Riders on more modern motorcycles will not know what a pet is, but it is worth making sure that your bike is not equipped with such things. A few days ago, I helped a young man who was very embarrassed. The problem was very obvious. We introduced this in our basic motorcycle safety course in California. It will help if it is set to "On".
If the fuel valve is detected, the fuel pump and filter need to be checked. Most filters are transparent and may work if there is liquid in the dark part. You can test the pump in the following ways: point your finger at the pump, and then click the ignition switch from top to bottom. When you prime the pump, you should feel the pump click. If there is no click, check the fuse. If the number of clicks exceeds four, it may be due to a clogged filter, kinks, or damaged wiring and starved to death. You can find the pump through the trace line. In most cases, a quick check can be easily performed.
If you have checked the fuel valve and there is no fuel pump problem, even if you are indeed in trouble, give the fuel tank a shake to push any gas stuck on the side of the fuel tank to the rear and toward the fuel valve. I also check to make sure there are any vacuum lines on the gasoline connected to the carbohydrates, otherwise, the fuel will not flow. You have to actually look.
On the newer, emission-controlled motorcycles, I found that in many cases the bike was underpowered and stalled. Once stopped, they will restart and then stall again after 3 miles. In this case, please try to run with the fuel tank cap open! The vent in the water tank is blocked. When this happens, it's like putting your thumb on a straw. The gas cannot flow out.
