How to change throttle cable in a Bullet?
For those who don't know the situation, I bought the Royal
Enfield Standard 350cc motorcycle on November 25, 2009.
We have arrived...
Three months later, I encountered the first breakdown on my
way to work on Sunday. The throttle cord is broken. Fortunately, I have a spare
at home and I am very confident that I can replace it myself. I have lived with
Bajaj Chetak, a 1984 model, for 5 years, and I am used to applying first aid by
myself. This is not as easy as it seems. I managed to pull out the handle of
the throttle cable. But the engine has problems (carbohydrates). I checked with
the biker Vikas (he also has a Standard 350 as big as him). He said it was a
very simple process and promised to join me within 30 minutes. But we realized
that once he came, RE made some changes, which caused this problem.
If you want to buy bike accelerator wire.
This is the problem-
If you refer to the picture above, I should unscrew the
"A" and take the other end of the cable out of the carburettor. But
the design was modified in these newer models so that the nut "B" and
part of the fuel tank could not let me unscrew the "A" part. They
interrupted in the yellow area. This means that the cables cannot be replaced
without removing the fuel tank. Sad enough, I just added water the night
before! We dragged the bike to a nearby mechanic, and he said he could repair
it without removing the fuel tank. However, when he started using his inhumane
technology on the bicycle, I called the RE service centre to confirm that we
had removed the fuel tank. I asked one of their mechanics to honour.
He has come to ride a bicycle.
Another tool is needed to loosen bolt B in the picture. That
will be my next purchase now.
